Measuring Snow

At 2.30pm I went outside to collect some snow in a measuring jug!

As you can see it measures 12cm on my ruler.  It is now sitting in my hall where it is a bit warmer that outside.

Do you think that the level will stay at 12cm on my ruler?  Write a comment below.

I’ll take another picture at 3pm and upload it to see if there is any difference!

I wonder what character might appear on my ruler?

———————————————————————————————–

3pm Update – It has now gone below 11cms and we now have Lightning McQueen!

I wonder if any more characters will appear?

————————————————————————————————–

4pm Update – You’re right it is disappearing! Well melting slowly back to its liquid form.  Which is?

Now we have Luigi, McQueen, Mater and Doc Hudson!

I will let you know what time it has fully melted.

—————————————————————————————————-

5.45pm Update – Still melting!

Mostly water now and the level is at 5cm.

—————————————————————————————————-

7pm Update – The snow has all melted!

The last piece was just melting as I came in the door from the supermarket!

There we have it, it takes from 2.30pm until 7pm for a jug of snow to melt at roughly 21°C!

How long did it take then?
