Show and Tell on Thursday

SHOW AND TELL  –  Thursday

We are launching Show and Tell on Thursday. If your child would like to bring in a toy to show their nursery friends please place it in their basket at the door. The basket will be the same as their group colour. Mrs Wilson will be at the door should you need any help.

We aim to get through as many as we possibly can, but if we don’t get round to sharing your toy this week we will make sure your child is able to do so next week.

Please remind your child that the toy will only be for Show and Tell and not for playing with in case it gets mixed up with our nursery toys.

Thank you for your help. We look forward to seeing your favourite toy on Thursday!

Happy Holidays

We hope everyone has a lovely holiday.

A couple of wee reminders  –

There is a Halloween Party for the children on Monday 31st. Children can dress up (no masks) and join in all the fun activities.

Please bring snack money every Monday (or pay a lump sum). It is £1.50 or £2 if you are willing to give a donation towards the nursery resources.

Welcome Back!

We hope you all had a lovely summer and are enjoying the September break!

At nursery we are busy welcoming all our children back and settling in our new starts too! Our returners are enjoying being role models for the new children starting!

We have really appreciated your patience and support as our new team members have learned the routines of the nursery. We are all looking forward to working with you and your children over this session.

Children’s Choice

We had a big vote to choose a new toy for the nursery. We each had a vote and we created a large bar graph. There was lots of valuable discussions using mathematical language like ‘most’,  ‘more than’ and ‘least’. Also the concept of democracy – one man/woman one vote was discussed many times. A lot of learning from one simple bar graph! The favourite was the Busy Bee pictured below and it has turned out to be a very popular choice.

Housekeeping Note

  • We are planning to wash all the nursery jackets this week so we would ask that your child wears a play jacket to nursery until the end of term. This way the children can still enjoy all the outside activities without worrying about getting clothes dirty.
  • We would also like to wash the bags that you use to keep a change of clothes and indoor shoes in. If they could be emptied by Friday the 24th that would be great.
