Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t kind to us on Sports Day but we made the most of it and had a great time in the gym hall. We even managed to persuade some adults into running. So much fun was had by all!

PEEP
This week we concentrated on spending quality time with our children. A very good way to spend time without it costing a fortune is to do some home baking, it’s very easy to write down a recipe and turn it into an experience where you go and buy the ingredients together then make something delicious to share. We chose to make pancakes which were a huge success. While everyone was waiting their turn to cook their batter we had construction toys and books out to keep everyone occupied. The way the pancakes disappeared at the end I can safely say it was a great success.
Our lovely garden
As you know we had our outdoor area extended and we’ve been working very hard to make it lovely for the children. We had parent helpers dig the beds (thank you again!) then we all got involved in planting. Its going to be very exciting watching everything grow.
Mini Beasts
As part of all the work in our garden we’ve also been learning about mini beasts. We’ve made some mini beasts in the craft area, built a bug hotel and even had some children bring some real live bugs in to nursery to let everyone see.
Volcano Experiment
Some of the children were talking about volcanoes so we decided to build one as an experiment. We learnt that volcanoes are holes in the earth from which molten rock, gas and ash erupt, thankfully there are none in Deans!
Spring has sprung
Thankfully it looks like Spring is here. In nursery we have been talking about what that means. We made beautiful Spring pictures and updated our display which looks fabulous. Next time you are in nursery please stop and have a look.
Outdoor fun
Children have absolutely loved getting out into our garden area to use the lovely new resources we have recently bought. The sandpit and water area have been put to very good use.
Our Learning (March)
St Valentine (sorry late post!)
Some of the children requested to make Valentine cards on Thursday so we got the glue and glitter and made some beautiful cards. If you were lucky enough to receive one we hope you loved it.
World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day, the children loved wearing their pyjamas and sharing their favourite stories. Mrs Moyes came along to present some books as prizes from a raffle she held. We had three lucky winners. Well done!
