This week we have been learning how we can be responsible, resilient, reflective, resourceful and respectful. BIG words for Primary 1 so we talked about what they mean. No BIG task for Primary 1 however as we came up with lots of examples. Have a look and prepare to be impressed!
Paired Reading in Primary 1S
This morning we were learning about paired reading. We know that means working in two’s because there are two shoes in a pair. Some of us ended up in a three because we found it difficult to just choose one partner!
We discussed what books we liked the look of in our class library. Some different books we were interested in were about penguins, fire engines and dinosaurs. We learned how to ask questions about the book and how to take turns in our reading. At the end we reported back to the other trios and pairs. Some of us found our book a bit tricky and others thought we had read a really interesting book.
Here we are enjoying our reading!
P6/7 – Animations
In P6/7 we were given a task to make an animation about something of our choice. Using a camera and tri-pod and you could bring in your own props. We were split into groups of 3. We all had different ideas and you had to put the pictures that we had taken on the camera onto the computer and we go into a special app that combines the pictures and makes it look like it’s moving. It’s really fun!

P5/6 – 500 word competition
P5/6 participated in a BBC2 competition called ‘500 words’. This is basically just to write a 500 word story and to enter it into their website and hope to win the competition. It is judged by a lot of people. Ur one has to be picked to go through to the final. P7 also participated in this. We are still waiting on the results.

P3/4 and P4 Mental Maths 14.4.16
Today a lady came in our class and showed us sums like adding and taking away. Her name was Mrs Galloway. She told us to put sums up on our chest. She also asked our names. Some of the sums were 20+30=50 and 30-10=20, 30+31=61 and 44-20=24.
