Money Week – by Shannon and Alexandra

Money week !
Last week was money week and we were learning about budgets. We did lots of activities. In one of our tasks we focussed on budgeting for the making of a movie .We interviewed Arianne and Scarlett and Abi and Josh

Arianne:    Myself and Alisha were doing a maths sum for money week we were under the budget (the budget was 50 pounds)  and we remembered the decimal point!

Scarlett: Myself and Alexandra  were learning about budgets and totals. We were purchasing clothes and making up outfits for a budget. We picked two outfits and when we added the totals up they came within our budget.

Abi and Sophie :  We were learning about totals and budgets, we also used taking away and adding to help people with  their  budgets.

Josh:  I was learning about budgets and I was also learning that the decimal point always falls down when adding and you only need the pound sign or the pence sign at the total of my sums.

P7 – Term 2

This term the children will be focusing on decimals, fractions and percentages in their maths and have made a great start to the term with this.  This week the children have been sequencing and ordering decimals, adding and subtracting mentally and adding and subtracting with the standard written method using tenths and hundredths.  For their Japan topic the children have been set a research project and have been making Kimono bookmarks for themselves and for their P1 buddies.

Nursery Wellie Walk

The children enjoyed taking part in our Nursery Wellie walk even although it was a windy day. We walked round the school playground in our wellies. We would like to thank the chidren, parents and carers and appreciate their support helping us to raise money to improve the nursery garden.welly-walk-199 welly-walk-208 welly-walk-216 welly-walk-220 welly-walk-229 welly-walk-253

Listening LIVE

Today P3B listened LIVE to Tracey Corderoy reading Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam .  Then the illustrator, Steven Lenton, demonstrated how to draw a cartoon character.   Here are some examples.  Next week we are going to use our pictures to help us re-tell the stories we listened to and our next step is to write our own stories…http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/efrrzchttps://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/uphallprimary/2016/10/27/scottish-book-trust-authors-live/
