Nightline
At Lendrick Muir we did the Nightline activity. We had to go into the woods and put a blindfold on. It was an obstacle course and we had to follow the rope which took us to the end. The obstacles included going through tyres, climbing over and under logs, crawling under nets, going through tangled ropes, we also had to watch out for the tree roots. Before we did the real course we did a practice course just following the rope to get used to it. It was really fun and we enjoyed it, we would recommend it.

Walk to the Gorge
At Lendrick Muir we went on a walk to a Gorge. A Gorge walk is a walk through the forest by the water. We ate wild garlic on the walk which some people liked but some people didn’t. We took photos of the waterfall and the lovely scenery. The current was very strong and can lift boulders up so if you fell in it the current would carry you down the river. The views were nice and we had to walk over bridges that went across the river. There was a cave where people used to make whisky when it was illegal and they used to sell it to make money, this cave was called the Macgregor’s Cave. It was a fun walk, we enjoyed it a lot and we heard a lot of fun facts.

Lendrick  Muir Camp

A few weeks ago we came back from Lendrick Muir and we did lots of activities but we have only written  about  two of them.

Tree climbing: Some of us liked it, but some of us didn’t really enjoy it because of the height. Everybody gave it a go. Although not everybody enjoyed it, it was a great experience.

Scarlett-“I found the first side fun and I found the other side more challenging.”

Rianna – “It was so funny when Scarlett bumped into the tree that I almost cried of laughter.”

Aaron- “I wasn’t going to do it but I gave it a go and I got to the top on both sides.”

Stuart-“I found it really challenging but I gave it a go.”

Luke-“When I was trying to get down from the tree I slipped and skidded on the ground.”

Elle-“I liked the easier side but I found the harder side more challenging.”

Shannon-“I was really nervous but I gave it a go and I tried my hardest.”

Inflatables:  The Inflatables that were there were the Bungee Run and the Wrecking Ball.

Rianna-“I loved it when Alisha got the bean bag to the bottom of the Bungee run and got two cords (that only the adults are supposed to have).”

Scarlett-“I found it really fun and my favourite inflatable was the bungee run because you ping back every time.”

Aaron- “I enjoyed the inflatables but there were better activities.”

Stuart-“The inflatables were exhausting and one of the best activities.”

Elle-“The inflatables were very fun and tiring but I enjoyed it.”

Luke-“I really enjoyed it and it was really fun!”

Shannon-“I really enjoyed it. My favourite inflatable was the bungee run.”

Murder Mystery at Lendrick Muir

Murder Mystery is a game where you need to find out who killed a fictional character. The characters were – The Daughter, The Son, Lady Moubray, The Butler and The Maid.

Lord Moubray was killed in front of the old Macdonald Room. We were given information about other characters. We had to go up to each of the characters and ask their name, how they felt about Lord Moubray, what they did earlier that day, how he was killed and find out the character’s alibi .

Crazy Golf

On the first day we played Crazy Golf. You had to partner up with another person and play the course. There were fourteen holes including two bonus holes which could either ruin your win (if you are winning anyway) or make it a clear win. It was a homemade course made by the owners of Lendrick Muir.  They used AstroTurf, logs and little tunnels. It was an outside course. The holes were quite hard with all the bumps and turns and tunnels and stuff. Personally our group thought it was a decent course. Crazy golf was our second activity and it was good.  It was relaxing and fun.

Here are some of our favourite photos from the week:

WOW, that was amazing!  If you have siblings that get on your nerves all the time, Lendrick Muir is totally for you! It’s also full of fun and amazing activities.

Archery

One of the activities that we did was Archery. We were told rules and advice for firing the arrow. The first step was to pick up the bow and turn it like a table. The next step was to pick up the arrow and slot on the bow but make sure the odd flyer is facing the sky. Then put every finger except your pinkie and your thumb on the string.  1, 2, 3, BULLS-EYE!

Low Ropes

Our next activity is Low Ropes. We had so much fun climbing, crawling and sliding. As soon as you went in the door there was a climbing wall that you had to climb up to get to a platform. On the climbing wall there were three different levels. An easy level, a medium level and a hard level. Then we crossed a bridge.  It was hard for some of us, some of us even faced our fears. After we crossed the bridge there were different ways to get down, most people chose the mine shaft – it was a  small tight tunnel with obstacles there a seesaw plank, stringy spider webs (that you got tangled up in), and camouflage nets. There were different obstacles within the course.  There were bridges, nets and a climbing, stretching and balancing zone. There was also a fireman pole and a slide…

<- Make sure you get your feet ready to step off the slide otherwise you’ll end up like this! Someone learned that the hard way.
