We continue to explore the signs of spring!

Hello Everyone

What a beautiful morning with the shining sun.  I hope that you are well and ready for another spring activity!

In spring we see lots of new baby animals out in the wild and also at home.  All the children love to care for our Guinea pigs and there was a real focus from the children to get a soft toy and make a harness to take their animal a walk.  The children would take them everywhere, outside for exercise and some would take them into the school if we were walking to the office.  This would be lovely to extend at home with the following activity.

Health and Wellbeing Activity – Looking After Animals

This activity involves a special toy animal or a pet and how we can care and look after them.

*Be kind to your pet or special toy; play and look after them and remember keep them safe just like Safe Sally says.

*Speak to your child about how we care for animals and keep them healthy, then your child can pretend to care for their toy or in reality your pet.

*Ask them how we care for Tinker & Tike at nursery, what they eat, cleaning their cage and keeping them warm.

*Speak about how we keep animals safe from harm and what you can do if your animal gets hurt.  Your child might want you to be the vet to help make their animal better.

*Remember to wash your hands after touching and handling animals.

It is always nice to hear if your child has enjoyed the activity, share their voice with us on the reply section!

Take care and keep safe.

Regards

Uphall ELC Team
