P2- Thursday 18th June

Good Morning P2

The focus this week is a dinner party! With adult permission you will be hosting your own dinner party for your family on Friday!

Remember this doesn’t have to be fancy! You could make everyone beans on toast if you wanted! Remember to ask an adult’s permission to do anything in the kitchen and be very careful- don’t handle any hot or sharp things on your own!

Literacy

L.I. To write a menu for your dinner party

Write up your Menu  to display on the table during your dinner party! Can you add some interesting adjectives to make it sound delicious!?

e.g.

Starter: Crunchy carrot with a tasty cream dip

Mains: Banging beans on toast!

Dessert:  Delicious and soft choc chip cookies

Today is thoughtful Thursday and we are asking you to find ways to measure a 2m distance so you can stay safe at your party.  What objects will you use to measure this distance?  Be creative!

L.I. To measure mass and read different scales

It is very important when you are cooking you can measure out ingredients and know how to read a measuring scale. This is called measuring ‘Mass’- that means how much something weighs. We measure mass using measuring scales. We measure mass in grams (for light things) and kilograms (for heavier things). 1 gram is about the weight of a paperclip and 1 kg is about the weight of a bag of flour.
