P7 Maths

This week the children have been continuing to learn all about decimal fractions using tenths and hundredths.  They have been sequencing decimal numbers, adding and subtracting and today were working on multiplying a decimal fraction by a single digit using the standard written method.  Well done P7 and keep up the hard work.

Creating 3D shapes

P4K have been exploring the properties of 3D shapes.  We are able to describe 3D shapes using the correct mathematical language of faces, edges and vertices.

We have used cubes and interlocking flat shapes to create and describe our own 3D shapes.

Learning in P1M

What a busy week we’ve had in Primary 1M  this week. We have been learning more sounds as part of our Phonics lessons and are delighted that we can now read and write some CVC words.  In Maths we have investigated 2D shapes and their properties. Perhaps you could have a 2D shape hunt at home or on the way home from school! We made Halloween bats out of our hands in Art and enjoyed sharing what we were dressing up as if we were going guising on Monday. During indoor PE we were practising throwing and catching using chest passes and overhead passes, for outdoor PE on Tuesday we learned how to play a game called ‘Farmer Farmer may we cross your golden river.’

Keep up the super effort with your homework-what a delight looking through your homework workbooks and jotters.
