Little Nose the Neanderthal

We have been learning all about Neanderthals in P4C today. We are reading the book, “Little Nose the Leader” by John Grant.

We decided to make a woolly mammoth for display because Little Nose has a pet woolly mammoth called Two Eyes. It’s fabulous. Thanks to Laurie for helping to draw the trunk.

Hedgehog visit

The nursery were lucky enough to have a visit from two Pygmy hedgehogs. These hedgehogs come from Africa, like a warmer climate and are now kept as pets. They do not hibernate like our native hedgehogs but enjoy eating the same food such as worms, grasshoppers and slugs. The children showed a great interest in these animals and had the opportunity to handle them.

P6A Robert Burns Treasure Hunt

On the 21st of November P6A and P6K found part of a letter and it was all torn up.  We went outside and managed to find all the missing pieces and had to fit them together.  Once we could read it we found out it was Robert Burns’ poems; Tam O Shanter and To A Mouse.
