Another super week in Primary 2G and the children are continuing to earn Dojos for excellent behaviour. We have been practising using a ruler properly with our ruler art activity. We have had some fantastic writing in our piece on all about me. This along with lots of maths and phonics games to revise and consolidate our learning from last year. We have kicked off our Farm to Fork topic, learning about where our food comes from and we are keeping active during our daily mile. Keep up the great work Primary 2! Mrs. Benzeval

Primary 2G
Well done to the big boys and girls in Primary 2G for completing their first week in Primary 2. We have had a fantastic few days getting to know each other and learning about our our new class and our golden rules. Well done to our pupils who managed to get more than 10 dojos in their first week. Keep up the good work everyone! Mrs Benzeval
The Daily Mile in Primary 1
The boys and girls in Primary 1 have had their first chance to take part in the daily mile. We looked at a film of some other boys and girls taking part and we decided that it looked like lots of fun! We had a discussion in the class about exercise and we know that running and walking and being in the fresh air are good things to help our little brains.
We will try and go out every day, and the exciting thing is that one of us will have Mrs McKay or Mrs Sutherland or another grown up as our walking partner. This will be a good chance to chat to our new teachers and we can find out more about each other!
Look out for some photographs which Mrs McKay has taken.
There is some information about the daily mile here , and you can ask us about it too.

SAVE THE CHILDREN FAST PROGRAMME
In association with Save the Children, Uphall Primary is delighted to be hosting the Families and Schools Together Programme (FAST).
We are looking for 20 Nursery and Primary 1 families to take part in the programme which is designed for families to come together after school when there will be opportunities for the children to play, parents to chat and for everyone to share a meal. There will be 8 weekly sessions of 2 hours duration on a Thursday afternoon with a graduation ceremony at the end of the block. The intended start date for the programme will be Thursday 28th September 2017 from 3.15 – 5.15.
Volunteers
We are also looking for parents or extended family members and community volunteers to help with the delivery of the programme. Volunteers will undertake two days training at Uphall Primary on 14th and 15th September in readiness for the programme beginning on 28th September.

How Long is a Piece of String? Just Ask Primary 1!
The Primary 1 children will be bringing home pieces of string this week. More interesting than it sounds!
We are hoping that you will keep these until the very end of Primary 1, then show the children how much they have grown up during the year. The children think they will get bigger or taller or longer. Let’s find out in June 2018!
