P2/3 Literacy – instructions (part 3 of 3)

Friday 1st May 2020

Good morning and happy 1st of May!Ā  Miss Anderson and I have enjoyed looking at your work that you have been e-mailing to school.Ā  Please continue to do so at:

wluphall-ps@westlothian.org.uk

Today, I would like you to check these instructions for a STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE make sense because I think they’re in the wrong order.Ā  I’d like to make one over the weekend but I need you to unscramble these instructions.

How to make a strawberry smoothie

You could tell someone the answers, write down the answers or copy the sentences in the correct order. You could write in your jotter, on paper, in the comments here (or on Twitter).Ā  If you have a printer, you could print the instructions out then cut and paste in the correct order.Ā

If you have any fruit left at home (after making fruit kebabs and funny faces), why not try making a fruit smoothie over the weekend. If you don’t have fruit you could make your own creation and share it.Ā  I’m sure ice-cream could be used since it’s the weekend!Ā  You might need help from a trusted adult.

Once you’re finished, please complete this short eform tell us what you think about home learning with an outdoor focus this week.Ā  I’ll also be on Twitter today.Ā  Any questions, please just ask!Ā  Thank you!

Love, Mrs BP x

Thursday 30th April P3 Home Learning

Morning all! šŸ˜€ Again, we are trying to reduce screen time today but you will need to quickly flick through the Literacy PPoint.

Literacy- L.I. I can write direct speech

Success Criteria

I can write the speech from my comic strip into direct speech.

I can remember to follow the rules of direct speech.

I can write in neat, joined handwriting.

Today I’d like you to rewrite the speech from your comic strip into direct speech- with speech marks, in your jotter. Remember there are quite a few rules when we use speech marks- remind yourself of them hereĀ punctuating_direct_speechĀ Last time, the main mistake most of us made was forgetting that when there is a new speaker you start a new line!

Numeracy-Ā L.I. I can divide using a real life example.

Today I’d like you to bird spot out of your window and count how many you can see. You could identify which birds you have seen too! Then divide this by the amount of trees you can see out of your window. If it won’t share equally then you will have a remainder- see here what that means hereĀ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_g58RKfJF8&t=62s
