Books and Bears

After our book hunt at the library this morning, we came back and decided that we would get Mrs Sutherland’s bears and soft toys from The Rainbow Room and take them outside to read our new books to them! It’s a bit like the waggy dogs we think!

Here we are reading and having fun in the sun.

Rainbow Room Smoothie Cafe

We had a lovely morning in The Rainbow Room with our guests who joined us to try out the smoothies recipes we have been practising over the last couple of weeks. Lots of discussion about different ingredients and flavours and likes and dislikes. We also shared the books from our Waterstones trip, did some colouring in, jigsaws, wordsearches and puzzles!

Thanks to all of our family members who were able to join us. The children loved having a guest, whether it was someone from home or a friend from class.

Here we are having fun in our learning!

Fruit Salad with The Cool Kids and The Fantastics!

This morning we had the wonderful experience of tasting different kinds of fruit! We are planning something which we hope the whole school will enjoy, although it is TOP SECRET at the moment, and the first step in this was trying out different kinds of fruit. We had to use descriptive language to try and help each other guess what was in Mrs Stevenson’s bag.

Here are some of the words we have learned to describe different fruit:

When we meet we always have a check-in to learn about how everyone is feeling and why. We have been learning about how we can tell how other people are feeling by looking at their faces. We think it is easy to tell if people were enjoying the different fruit! What do you think?

Broxburn Library Visit

We had a lovely walk in the sun last Friday to the library. Here we are enjoying our new books. Thanks to Dianne and her colleagues at the library, and to our family members who joined us. We hope you enjoyed your morning!

Sharing Our Love of Books

Here we are enjoying the books we bought on our trip to Waterstones in Livingston. We had a good discussion about why we chose the books and then we chose something we liked about the book to put into our Reading Passports. Mrs Sutherland has filmed us talking about our lovely new books, but she’s needing a bit of technical help to put it on the blog – watch this space!
