Functional Writing, Postcard (part 3 of 3) P2/3

Friday 24th April 2020

Good morning.  Well done to those of you who wrote a reply postcard to me either on paper or in your jotter.  Thank you.

Today we will swap postcards!  I have written a postcard example from one friend to another.  I’d like you to read this then write a reply pretending you are friends.  Use your reply to me to help you.  You can write a comment here, or post pictures of your work on Twitter or e-mail to the school (wluphall-ps@westlothian.org.uk).  Remember, you don’t have to use a real postcard.  A piece of paper will be fine.  Thank you.

P2/3 Friday 3rd April reading lesson

Good morning librarians,

I hope you’ve had fun categorising (grouping) your books and have decided on a favourite.

Week 2, lesson 3 Reading Home Learning Enjoyment

Did you watch the Blair Drummond Safari Park live feed yesterday?  I know some people did.  I watched the meerkats  with my girls and we asked if they like climbing.  Apparently they like to climb up the park rangers and trees!

Don’t forget to decorate your eggs today.  I’ve got some in a pot ready to decorate with my girls.  I wish I was decorating them with you in class!  All the teachers look forward to seeing your efforts.  If you have Twitter, please tweet us a picture of your egg.

I feel sad I won’t be seeing you before the proper Easter holiday.  I hope you are all well and manage to enjoy the holiday.  I know Miss Anderson feels the same.

Any questions, please just ask!

P2/3 Thursday 2nd April reading lesson

Good Morning!

Did you manage to dig out your Read, Write, Count bag and write a story? Today, I’m asking you to read my clues and guess my favourite book.  Can you give me clues to guess yours?  What categories will you use to sort your books to choose your absolute favourite?  Read, steady, go….

Week 2, lesson 2 Reading Home Learning Enjoyment

Don’t forget to check out Blair Drummond Safari park today while you’re having your lunch as there’s a live feed from one of the park rangers!

Remember you can pick up lunches from Kirkhill PS.  On the menu today is Sausage and Mash YUM!

If you have any eggs left, why not try the Easter Decorating Competition.  If you’ve run out of eggs, you can draw an egg and decorate it.  You must enter your picture by 12noon tomorrow.  We (all staff) look forward to judging the entries.

I’ll also be posting on Twitter.  Any questions, please just ask!
