Science – Light

It was amazing to see the results of the hard work that P6M put into this topic.

The class looked at how light travels in straight lines and then they used mirrors to change the direction of the light from a torch.

The pupils then designed and built Lego mazes putting mirrors at the corners, to reflect the light as far as they could.

The next challenge was to look at different materials and how reflected or absorbed light. P6M showed fantastic imagination and creativity when producing their shadow puppets.  They used different methods to add dramatic effects to their puppets such as coloured light lenses and playing around with opaque and translucent features. The pupils were also about to alter the size of their projected shadow by changing the distance to the light source.

Then the ultimate challenge was to split white light into the 7 colours of the visible spectrum. Guess what, they did it!!
