Great Science Share Week 1
International Dawn Chorus Day is held annually on the first Sunday in May, when people are encouraged to get up early to listen to bird song. Be inspired to take time to listen to wildlife sounds around you throughout the week.
Things to think about:
- What time of day do we see most birds?
- What types of birds can I see near me?
- Is there a pattern in the sounds I hear and the time of day?
Things to try:
- Tune into Birdsong radio
- Identify a bird from its song / call https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/blog/2019/04/identify-bird-song/
- Build a bird bath https://www.rspb.org.uk/fun-and-learning/for-families/family-wild-challenge/activities/build-a-bird-bath/
Here are some bird spotter guides to help you identify the birds you see.
