Week Beginning 7/9/26
This week we have been using Uno cards in loads of our work, take a look how.
We started out by using them to generate multi-digit numbers to aid us when looking at subtraction. We used number lines, Bar Models and the standard method (columns) to answer our subtraction questions.
Then we used them as talk token which we had to spend in our reading discussion day to make sure everyone had an equal chance to talk.
Mr Eden then introduced us to Cuisenaire Rods (he loves them) and how we can use them to help when dividing and then let us explore them and all the things you could use them for. Stay tuned for next week when we use them again.
This week in Leader in Me, we discussed student-led learning strategies that help students take charge of their own learning experience, including learning targets and student-designed assessments. With your learner, discuss these questions for deeper connections: How can student-led learning strategies help with homework? With practicing a sport? Doing a hobby?
