LEADER IN ME
Growing your own vegetables is really rewarding – not to mention, tasty! Plus, it’s a great way to see nature in action. What’s better, lots of the foods we eat in the UK can be easily re-grown from food scraps, so you’ll be cutting down on food waste, too! Two of the easiest things to grow from off cuts are lettuce and celery.
Next time you’re using these veggies at home ask a parent or guardian to keep the ends. Pop the root ends in a glass or small dish filled with a little water and leave in a sunny spot. You’ll soon notice roots beginning to sprout and new leaves growing. If you’re able to, plant them in soil and watch them continue to grow! Don’t worry if you don’t have any soil, they will also continue to grow in water.
I hope you have had a fun day of learning! Maybe you are in the mood to do some Hoola Hooping like me now! 🙂
Keep safe and God bless.
