Good morning P2/3! Here are some activities for you to work through today.
Literacy
Revise words given for spelling homework and practise them in your jotter using rainbow writing.
Maths
If you haven’t done the activities on Education City yet, try to log on today and practise number partitioning. Then in your jotter, practise writing numbers in 10s from different numbers. E.g. 3, 13, 33, 23, 43, try and continue the sequence.
HWB
We were learning about keeping our body healthy. Watch the clip below and see if you can draw a labelled diagram in you jotter of the parts of a tooth. Try to include enamel, root, dentin and pulp.
PE
Why don’t you try this fitness workout to help keep you active.
Just remember to always try your best. Stay safe everyone!
Select 2 of your numeracy tasks from your Number grid.
Time
Today we are going to introduce calendars and months of the year!
Follow the link below to watch a short bbc Bitesize video clip and then use what you know about clocks to design or model your own analogue clock from junk, or draw it in your jotter. Remember it must go up to 12 and have a long and short hand! Have a look to see what clocks you have around your house for some inspiration!

Here is a fun song from Jack Hartmann to help you as well!
Now try logging onto Education City and go to the tasks set for you. These have been added to the learning folder ‘Time’. You must complete the set tasks in order to move on.
Keep practicing your days of the week and reading the time using o’clock and half past!
Literacy
Do your daily read, spell write task sheet in your jotter.
I have also set you some tasks on education city to help you practice you spelling (Farm animal phonics), reading and comprehension skills (Cues for reading). Take your time and remember to listen carefully!
French
Last term we were learning our colours and how to count to 10, try practicing these and see what you remember.
For a new challenge we are going to start learning the days of the week. Use the first link to learn them and the second link (a song) to help you practice.
In music we did lots of work on finding the beat and copying the rhythm. Here is a music lesson to help you get even better. Listen and watch carefully so you can repeat the beat using your body as an instrument. I’ve had fun doing this with my girls at home too!
Enjoy your learning today Primary 1 and stay safe!
*David Walliams at 11.00 *IDL *Spelling Grid Activity *A physical activity (Exercise with Joe Wicks, Dance with *Oti Mabuse, go a walk or outdoor play in your garden)
*Log onto Education City and try some of the numeracy activities for your group under the Homework section.
Good morning P2/3! I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine.
Here are some activities you can try today.
Literacy: Pick a book from home and read it with an adult in your house. Write a book report about what has happened. Remember to use good vocabulary and punctuation.
Maths: If you log on to Education city and you will see that I have set some tasks (in the classwork section, called P2/3) for you to work through to help with partitioning numbers up to 100. Work through these activities if you can and then ask someone to write down some numbers up to 100. Can you partition each number to say how many tens and ones are in each number.
I hope you all enjoyed the story ‘Lost and Found’ yesterday. I look forward to seeing some of your drawings when we get back!
Technology
Thinking back to the story again I am setting you a technology design task. In the story the boy and the penguin traveled in a small boat. Id like you to design and make a small model of a boat using anything you can find in the garden or junk in the house. You could design it in your jotter first and list your materials. Your model needs to float on water and fit two passengers. Try testing your model in the sink or in a shallow basin of water in the garden with an adult. Does it float?!
People who help us
Thinking back to our topic in school we were learning about people who help us. The postmen and postwomen are all still working very hard to deliver important information and parcels in the community. Lets show them a big thank you by designing or colouring in a poster to put in your window or on your door. Follow the link and choose your design or create one of your own. Lets give them a big thumbs up!
Select two activities from your number grid, remember to keep practicing ones you find tricky to help improve your number skills. Record any working in your jotter.
Time
Today we will be looking at reading the time using o’clock and half past. Log onto Education city to practice the activities added to yesterdays time lesson. Keep practicing the days of the week!
Colourful Consonants
Select one of your read, spell write task cards and record your written work in your jotter. Remember to think about letter formation, spacing and full stops.
I hope you enjoy the activities! Wish I could see the wonderful work your are producing at home! Keep up the good work primary 1 and stay safe!
