Maths Task
Learning Intention – To develop mental maths skills
Success Criteria – I can use my knowledge of number facts to complete the questions
Task
Log onto the toytheater bingo or Topmarks Daily 10 sites and work on improving your mental maths skills. Think about a personal challenge. What is your learning gap, how can you close this? (e.g. get faster, more challenging questions)
Literacy Task
Learning Intention- To write a persuasive paragraph
Success Criteria – I can include at least 3 points of interest
I can include my core targets eg. spelling, punctuation, connectives, sentence openers etc.
Task
Read more of your Oxford Owl ebook. Write a paragraph trying to convince someone to read your book. Remember to use persuasive language. Afterwards you could email this to a classmate to recommend the book to them.

Hello! Its Friday again!
Here is what you will need along with the overview today:
Dictation
He has soap in his hands.
The goats are on the road!
The boy put on his coat.
Maths
Working with 10 using our fingers and ten frames…
Instructions…Show me 10 fingers…now put down * (adult selects number) fingers…how many does that leave? What does (10 – *) make? Sow me on your fingers.
These questions can also be done using the ten frame to show and solve answers. Once you get the hang of it see how quick you can answer questions.

Here are some activities to try today.
Literacy
You can practise handwriting in your jotter. Maybe try to write all the names of your family as neatly as you can. You could even use different coloured pencils if you wish!
Maths
Thank you to everyone who had a go at the maths activities on Education City. Here is a worksheet you can try to help you gain more practise with subtraction.

Maths Task
Learning Intention – To make symmetrical shapes
Success Criteria – I can create a symmetrical shape if I am given half of the shape.
Task 1 Log onto the Dynamic Learning website and use the online textbook to complete the following pages.
Circles – Pages 27-28 Squares and Triangles pages 16-18
Literacy Task
Learning Intention- To write an African fable.
Success Criteria – I can use what I’ve learned about fables to write my own.
I can use my core targets e.g. spelling, punctuation, connectives etc.
Last week we read/watched some African folk tales. A fable is a type of folk tale which is usually about animals and has a moral or meaning to the story.

Good morning Primary 1, I hope you enjoyed the sock challenges yesterday!
Here are resources for today’s learning suggestions to support the overview:
Literacy
Select a reading card from your pack or try another book from the on line Oxford Owl eBook Library. There are many great books to choose from. You could also record in your jotter the title, author and main events of the story, or draw a picture of your favourite part.
You could also try practicing these ‘oa’ spelling words: goat, coat, boat, goal, toast, road
Time
We are introducing digital time this week. Re-cap on last weeks learning and then take a look at these.

All you need is a pair of socks rolled up!

Also try placing 5 pairs of socks at your feet while you lie flat on your back with a box or basket at your head. Use your feet to pick up a pair or socks and lift your feet up and over your head and try to drop them in the box/basket. Once you’ve practiced try timing yourself! Who is the fastest in your house?

Design and make dinner place names for the table tonight. Find out how to spell everyone’s name and place them at the table while you help set up.
