Primary 2/3 Friday 15th May

Hello P2/3!  I’m sure you’re looking forward to the good weather this weekend.

Here are some activities for today.

Literacy

Practise handwriting in your jotter, by writing out all your spelling words as neatly as you can.

You can use the Skywriter on ictgames to help you with correct formation.

https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/skyWriter/index.html

Maths

Log on to Education City and practise addition strategies using the activities set on the P2/3 classwork page.

Addition worksheet

You can also use this addition worksheet to help give you some extra practise with adding numbers.

Mrs Denholm and I would love to see what you’ve been up to.  So if you can send us a picture of some work that you have been proud of this week, we’d love to see it.

Have a great weekend and keep safe!

Primary 1 Thursday 14th May

Good morning Primary 1!

Ideas for today…

Literacy

Select a book from oxford owl reading Ebooks. Once you have read aloud think back to the story. Can you recall the main events in the correct order. Who were the main characters. What were they like? If it was a non-fiction book (factual) what was it about? share two things you learned from the book. And would you recommend it to someone?

Continue to work on ‘ai’ and ‘oa’ vowel sounds. Use the attached task sheets from Mondays blog or go back to your ebook and see how many ‘ai’ and ‘oa’ words you can find and record them in your jotter.

Practice your spelling words.

Numeracy

Select two activities from the number grid. Remember to use your dice and ten frame to play the games with someone at home.

Practice telling the time using o’clock and half past on a digital and analogue clock.

Topic

Continue your animal fact file.

Now you have chosen an animal that interests you and drawn and labeled a picture of it we are now going to discover more about it. Using these sub headings try to find out and write at least two sentences about…

What they look like. (think about their body, teeth/beak/, feet, tail, fur, patterns on their body, their size and weight?

Their habitat. Where they live. Tree, burrow, den, how do they make it?

What they eat. How do the catch it? when do they hunt, eat?

Are they endangered? If so, why? If not, how many of them are there?

You don’t need to do your research and recording all at once, you can break it down into small sections.

Take a look at the attached fact file to help you think about layout.
