Primary 3/4 Tuesday 16th June

Good morning.

Here are today’s suggested activities.

Spelling- choose an activity from the grid.

Design a brand new board game. Be as creative as you like. Write a set of instructions. Have someone play it. Were your instructions clear enough?

Maths

Circles- repeat yesterday’s dice games but use subtraction instead. Play topmarks hit the button.

Triangles and square. Log onto Teejay and complete p 226-227.

Health

Visit www.youtube.com. cosmic yoga and complete Trolls.

Literacy

‘a-e’ words

 Choose 4 of the words to carry out spelling activities and write sentences.

Look out for any ‘a- e’ words in your reading book.

Continue to practice tricky words.

 Measuring in cm, estimate and use your ruler to draw a selection of lines up to 30cm.

  • Collect some empty bottles of different sizes for Thursday’ s activity.

Art – Nature’s watercolours

Go outdoors and collect a few leaves, petals or little bits of soil in different containers. Mash them up a bit or tear them and add tiny amounts of water to make a paste. You have made your natural watercolour use the mixture you have made to create your own art- if you can find a stick or a feather try using that for your painting. Share with me your pictures.

Good morning P1, I hope you had a lovely weekend!

Here is this weeks overview for some learning ideas.

P1 HL grid 15th June

Literacy

Select a read, spell write task card.

Use your best handwriting and remember to think about a capital letter at the start of a sentence and a full stop at the end.

Numeracy

Number grid activity

Ordering numbers to 100 or beyond.

Art

Watch this lovely story about ‘Leaf Man’. Then try out the activity outlined below.

  1. Think about the many pictures of people, animals, and other objects created entirely out of leaves in the story.
  2. You will need two sheets of white paper, crayons or pastels, and various different leaves.
  3. Think about what type of person you can create using the available leaves. For example, it could be a football player, an archer, or superhero.
  4. Lay out the leaves on one of the sheets of paper. Then, place the other sheet of paper over top of the leaves and lightly colour over the top of the leaves with your crayons or pastels to reveal the shapes of the leaves.
  5. To complete your person, try adding a background, facial features, and other props the leaf person might use.

Good morning everyone here are today’s suggested activities.

Spelling- choose an activity from the grid.

Adjectives- boy, toy, joy, enjoy, enjoyed, annoy, annoyed.

Nouns- mother, brother, son, other,Monday, front, London

Verbs- class, classroom, grass, glass, pass, asked, after.

Visit www.oxfordowl.co.uk. and choose you book you would like. Or choose one from home. Write five questions to a character in your book and tell me why you chose to ask these?

Maths.

Circles

Play quick fire addition game rolling two dice.

Roll your dice four times for example your numbers are 5, 4, 6, 3 your sum would be 54+63. Complete this 8 times and record in your book.

You could further challenge yourself by using the above approach but rolling the dice six times.

Play hit the button on topmarks. Addition.

Triangles and square- p224 and 225. Mrs Baird will be holding a teams chat to discuss these pages.

 

Health- design a character that would encourage the nursery to brush their teeth. Name your character.

• The leaves fall off the trees in spring
• Eating lots of sugar is good for you
• Sheep lay eggs

Try making up some of your own true or false questions, remember to stop, listen and think!

Numeracy

Number Grid Task

Adding numbers to 10 using your 10 frame. Ask an adult to flash a ten frame using red and yellow counters. Can you solve the sum?

Look at the flash ten frame, if your not sure ask to see it again, now solve the number bond to 10, here the answer would be 2+8=10
