Hello from us all in Primary 1/2!
We have been busy learning about remembrance day this week and today we placed our poppy pebbles at the village memorial. We also created poppy pictures using our peg boards and took part in the minutes silence, we all did very well to stay silent and show our respect. Click on the link below to view our pebbles and some peg pictures!

Good afternoon
All children have recently had reading homework sent home. At this stage in primary 1 it is important that children engage in regular practice of reading and sounds. The more practice they get in school and at home will make a great difference to their progress.
All children were also sent home with Log in details for Education City. When logged in at home children will find allocated learning tasks linked to their class learning in the homework section.
It would also be greatly appreciated if you could take the time to complete the survey on the attached link below to help with developing our reading culture in school.
Thank you again for your continued support

This week’s spelling words and monthly homework grid.
We will be keen to see how our experiment is progressing. Click on link below to see picture
Last week we decided to compare the build up of germs on dirty hands to using soap and water or hand sanitiser.
We all worked in groups and have a control slice of bread as well. Ask your child to tell you about it.

Homework
Some children have had all of Set 1 sounds sent home, children can use these to practice saying the sound and writing them to help develop their writing skills.
Children have also had sight words sent home, these are words children need to learn to recognise, read, say and write, for example, ‘the, and, a’. They can also practice by looking for them in books at home, go on a word hunt and see how many you can find!
For numeracy, continue to do activities on the number wall task sheet.
P2’s have spelling words this week focusing on the ‘ai’ sound and a speed read task sheet looking at the vowel sounds ee, ai, o, and oo.
