What a fantastic week we have had in P2/3 with the highlight being our trip to West Lothian College for the ‘Big Build’ event.
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- We loved using the real saws, hammers and nails during the Big Build and we were very good at staying safe and assessing risks.
- We learned about Earth Day and created folding globes to display our thoughts on how we can care for the world.
- We enjoyed working in random groups to complete a Rich Task in Maths which involved thinking about how to display football cards. We used what we had learned recently about arrays to help us with this.
- We had our first NYCOS music session and we really enjoyed the singing and clapping games.
- We continued our class talks and it was interesting to find out about everybody’s favourite things.
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- We would like more opportunities to work with real tools in the future so we can get better at using them.
- We have been trying hard to ‘Beat the Teacher’ so we need to get better at stopping chatting quickly.
Our school value award winners for this week are Olivia N and Iver for being ambitious and responsible. Well done!
