Be Your Best

Friday 13th March – Primary 1

Primary 1 have had a fantastic week this week! We have been working very hard and are so proud that we won the raffle ticket award! We got to have extra playtime which we enjoyed very much.

Tickled Pink (What went well this week):

  • We have been working very hard in our literacy lessons – we learned the tricky words ‘like’ and ‘have’ and created actions to help us remember them!
  • In numeracy we have been focusing on measurement and we created some wonderful drawings based on the character ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. After we drew our pictures, we used a ruler to measure how long they were. We learned that when we are using a ruler to measure, we need to start at 0 and always make sure that we write the unit of measurement (cm). You will be able to see our wonderful display from this lesson on our door wall – we are so proud of this work!
  • In science we did two experiments. We looked at floating and sinking with raisins and we loved that we got to do this with our families at our breakfast! We then did a different experiment with our buddies where we worked together to make a maze and used magnets and paper clips to guide our characters through. This was so much fun!

Green for Growth (What we are working on):

  • Primary 1 are working hard to continuously show our school values throughout the day. We are focusing on kindness and respect in our classroom with our friends and resources.
  • We are also working on remembering to put our hands up when we want to share something with Miss Robb or the class. We have spoke about respect and are beginning to understand why we should take turns at sharing and why we should wait for someone to finish what they are saying before we speak.

Well done to Minahil and David for being our Star Award winners this week!

Have a good weekend,

Miss Robb 🙂
