We have had a super week this week with our Family Breakfast and World Book Day. We have enjoyed a range of literacy activities and a created a fantastic door display with pictures of us reading our favourite book.
Tickled Pink –
- We really enjoyed learning about Andy Scott’s sculpture’s – and we worked in our home groups to research an individual one. We then shared this information with other groups during a stay and stray activity.
- We really enjoyed having our parents in and it was useful getting our IDL and Sumdog codes organised so that we can continue our learning at home.
- We worked really well on measure tasks and had to measure items using different units of measurement.
- We created a book review on our favourite books.
- We are getting much quicker at our mental maths and more confident using number talks.
- We enjoyed drop and read – each time we heard the bell we had to stop what we were doing to read our books.
- We really enjoyed our dress down or dress as a book character on Friday.
- We learned that MuslimsĀ get mehndi patterns for Eid and we made our own and we also made cards to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
Green for Growth
- We still need to practice our multiplication skills using arrays.
- It was tricky measuring accurately in cm and remembering to add cm after the number so that we know which unit of measurement was used.
- We do need to continue to develop our listening skills and ensure we are not wriggling or chatting during carpet time.
