Happy New Year!
Primary 6/7 have had a wonderful busy first week back after the festive holidays with lots of great learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- We really enjoyed starting our famous Scot projects linked to our Burns theme because it was great to choose our famous Scot and fun to start learning about them and some of us were able to start our art activity to create a portrait of them
- We really enjoyed our work with equivalent fractions and simplifying fractions in Maths and we felt we got a good understanding of the processes and were then able to successfully complete tasks
- We also enjoyed our work on writing Scottish poems because we got the chance to consider Scots language and also think about the structure of our poems and the use of rhyming patterns
- Primary 7s really enjoyed their first online Spanish transition lesson with Miss Cabezudo Rodriguez from Deans High School
- We really enjoyed our PE lesson with Mrs Robertson as we had lots of fun playing dodgeball and taking part in another fun challenge
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- Some of us felt that getting started on our Scots poems was a little tricky
- Some of us found it a bit difficult as we made a start to learning our Scots poems for the recitals in class as some of the words were a bit tricky to read and pronounce
- Some of us found the process for our famous Scots artwork a little tricky and we will continue to work on this next week
Our school value award winners for this week are Matilda and Archie. Congratulations!
Well done P6/7 for a brilliant, busy week. Have a lovely weekend.
