Welcome to our weekly update on all things Seafield PS! It has been a busy week with lots of learning taking place in school. Our P1 have continued to learn their next set of sounds using the Jolly Phonics programme. P2 and P3 have started working in their groups at Literacy Circuit and P4 were really busy with literacy in the classroom. P5/6 were really focused on bracelet making in class this morning and P6/7 have continued to enjoy learning a bit about playing golf at PE.
Our Parent Council held their first meeting on Monday and are hoping to hold a range of events for children and families this year. They will share details in due course!
Our P6 and P7 pupils have been invited to register their interest in becoming one of our Mini Champs this year. We are looking for pupil leads for Rights Respecting Schools, Health and Wellbeing, Literacy and Numeracy. The mini champs will work alongside staff leads to drive forward work in these areas and also attend online meetings with pupils in other schools who hold the same roles. There has been a good level of interest and the plan is to hold “interviews” on Monday of next week where I will ask each child a couple of questions about why they think they would be a good mini champ before appointing pupils to the mini champ roles. I am really looking forward to hearing what the children have to say when I meet with them next week!
A reminder to please ensure that you have completed the annual EE2 form for local walks and excursions. This covers outdoor learning activities and staff in the upper area in particular are keen to be able to get out into the village for this. If you have not completed the EE2 form, your child will have to remain in school while others head out so please do this by Tuesday 2nd September. If you have any problems with this, contact the school office. We would also ask that parents/carers of pupils from P5 – P7 complete our Responsible Use of Digital technology e-form that was issued to you on Monday of this week. If these could be completed by Friday 5th September, this would be appreciated.

Kind regards, Lynne Egan.
