Be Your Best

Primary 6/7 – Friday 15th August

It has been wonderful to welcome back our Primary 6/7 class to school and we are also delighted to welcome our new Primary 7 pupil, Matilda to Seafield Primary School.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first few days back as we settled back in and started our class work for this very important year ahead. We had important detailed discussions about expectations and hopes for the forthcoming Primary 7 and Primary 6 year ahead.

We started our new class novel, Divided City and made some predictions about what might happen in the novel as well as starting to work on our understanding of the characters and plot in the first few chapters. There are some very important themes that we will identify and discuss as we read this novel together which are ultimately based around inclusion and avoiding bias, in particular in relation to sectarianism and race.

We also enjoyed a challenging Maths rich problem solving task based on multiplication facts which helped us to get ourselves back into our numerical thinking and refresh our number fact knowledge.

We are looking forward to another fun week next week and a lot of new learning tasks.
