P1 have had a fantastic week celebrating Book Week Scotland and also Road Safety Week!
Tickled Pink
- For literacy each day we have been reading a different story from the BookBug bag and doing fun activities linked to them. The children really enjoyed the sausage hunt in the classroom to find tricky words and making their own dogs based on the book ’10 Dogs’.
- We had a visit from an Author and Illustrator on Wednesday afternoon and the children engaged really well with the session. They got to draw some of the characters and make our own character too!
- We enjoyed PE this week, learning how to move our bodies in different ways like walking backwards, bunny hops and slithering like snakes. We played a new game called ‘Rob the Nest’ and the children worked well in their teams and counted their bean bags at the end.
- We loved Outdoor Learning this week, we got to take books out to the playground and find somewhere fun to read it. The children loved reading in the tyres and made our own campfire (even though it was freezing cold!!).
Green for Growth
- Some children found pattern work a bit tricky this week, we will continue to practise this and look for patterns in our environment.
- We have been doing addition sums with missing numbers and some children are finding it a bit difficult.
Our Lead Learners next week are Zaynab and Luna.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Wallace
