Be Your Best

Primary 6/7 – Friday 25th October 2024

Primary 6/7 have had a wonderful first week back after the October break, with lots of exciting learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

  • We enjoyed our PE lessons this week as it was fun to start working on our skills for tag rugby
  • We enjoyed our Maths lessons on rounding this week as we are feeling more confident with the strategies needed for rounding and estimating now
  • We really enjoyed working on our climate change projects as we added more detail and focused on making sure that we were using our own words to create our presentations
  • We enjoyed our outdoor learning project about Seafield Law, both being outdoors at the bing and working on our projects for the DISCO group
  • We enjoyed our climate change art work as we are now getting close to completing these amazing works of art
  • We really enjoyed our Maths lesson with Mr McConville from Deans High School because it was interesting to use the vertical whiteboards to solve the Maths problems in our groups

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning):

  • Some of us felt that our French assessment was a bit tricky as we couldn’t remember all of the language and vocabulary that we had learnt previously and also because we have recently been learning Spanish in class
  • We found it tricky to find all of the numbers needed for Mr McConville’s Maths lesson
  • Some of us feel that outdoor learning didn’t work as planned because we ran out of time to get to all of the areas that we needed to visit

Our lead learners for this week were Oscar, Archie, Shiva and Kaiden. They set the following class targets for the week; underline your date and title when working in your jotter, use equipment appropriately and be resilient in your school work. Our lead learners witnessed lots of our class meeting these targets, which was fantastic to see.

Our school value award winners for this week are Alfie and Amelia.

Well done for a brilliant week, P6/7.
