Primary 6/7 – Friday 20th September 2024

Primary 6/7 have had a wonderful short week with lots of exciting learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our last two weeks in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

  • We enjoyed our climate change art lesson and thought that it was fun to show the positive and negative in one picture
  • We enjoyed our learning about the Adobe Express computer programme over the last two weeks as we improved our digital skills
  • We really enjoyed our buddying session with the Primary 1 children this week as it was great fun being outside and trying to teach them playground games and we also enjoyed our origami fox activity with the Primary 1s
  • We enjoyed learning about inference using riddles to help us understand this concept
  • We enjoyed our outdoor Maths work on bearings with Mrs Baird and our Mental Maths work in class with Mr Hamilton
  • We really enjoyed our family breakfast at the end of last week as it was lovely to welcome our adults to school and share some activities with them
  • We enjoyed writing our setting descriptions with a focus on descriptive language as we were able to choose the setting that we wanted to describe

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning):

  • Some of us felt that our Adobe Express learning was quite tricky as there was a lot to learn and the live lesson was also a little difficult to follow
  • We found our origami buddying task with the Primary 1s a bit tricky last week especially because we couldn’t get the noses to stay on the foxes!
  • Some of us feel that our outdoor playground games session with the Primary 1s was a bit tricky as it was difficult to make sure all instructions were being followed

Our lead learners for this week were James, Darcey, Julia and Jake and they set the following class targets for the week; don’t swing on chairs, don’t lose classroom equipment and don’t talk back to the teachers. Our lead learners witnessed lots of our class meeting these targets, which was fantastic to see. Well done for a brilliant week, P6/7.
