We have been:
- learning to answer questions about something we have read
- looking at words with the sound ‘ay’ in them
- climbing in PE.

Phew! What a busy week.
As part of our People Who Help Us topic we have been learning how medical staff help people with asthma as three people in Mrs Hare’s class have this condition. We learnt WHO has asthma, WHEN people get an asthma attack (the triggers) and WHAT HAPPENS. Now we feel better able to support people with asthma. Thank you to Lochlann and Reece who was able to share with us their experiences of having asthma.
As you will be aware, there was a whole school photograph taken on Tuesday 4th February to celebrate the school’s forthcoming 50th Anniversary.
You should now have received a copy of the order form for this with included a small sample image. However, as the image is very small it is difficult to imagine what the actual photograph will look like, so a full sized version is available for you to view at Mrs Strachan’s office. Please feel free to pop in and have a closer look to help you decide if you would like to purchase a copy of this special commemorative photograph.
All completed order forms and payments should be handed into the office by Friday 7th March 2014.
Just a quick reminder to let you know that there is still time to buy your tickets for the ‘Pies, Peas and Bingo’ night being held on the 14th March at Blackburn Bowling Club at 7pm. The Parent Council have organised this fun event along with a disco to help raise funds for the school and upcoming events. Tickets cost £2 for admission and are available to purchase from the school office. Bingo books and sheets and raffle tickets will be available to purchase on the night. We look forward to seeing you all there.
In P2R we have been discussing what fun we had during masterclasses and here are some things that we all enjoyed;
We all had a fantastic time and look forward to taking part in future masterclasses.
Please note: There will be no afterschool clubs this week.
They will resume next week.
We have been learning to:
The children in Mrs Hare’s class have set themselves a verb challenge – they have to add as many verbs as they can to describe what the Olympic athletes are doing as they compete. Please add some verbs to help us. So far we have sliding and balancing for figure skating (Jaidon) and pushing and pulling for cross-country skiing (Reece).
Yesterday we did some activities on internet safety in Mrs Hare’s class. Lee and Kim two cartoon characters showed us how to stay safe online. Here are our top tips:
Andrew – ‘Don’t tell someone where you live or your phone number’
Ella – ‘ They (people on line) and not friends, they are strangers’
Jaidon – ‘Be polite. Don’t say nasty stuff’
Robbie – If you feel uh oh tell your mum or dad’
