Another fabulous week in P7

P7 have been doing our class charter that is jungle themed.  We have been drawing round our hands this to show that we are all unique and beautiful, but together we are a masterpiece.

Every afternoon we have been doing our table challenge, what we do is a numeracy question, health question and a literacy question in our table groups.

The whole class together love the table challenges as it is fun and good for our learning.  It is also good for encouragement and working well using teamwork.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks post!!

This week in Primary 3/2

In PE we were learning new movements and we played ball games with Mrs Logan. We have been learning lots of things in maths including multiplication, addition and subtraction and sequencing numbers. Today P3 have been showing joins in their handwriting while P2 worked on letter formation. We have really liked thinking about our new topic ‘Farming’ and taking part in singing games and keeping the beat.

Hello again from P5/4

Another busy week in P5/4! This week we have:

* We made a start on our new topic “Britain”. We came up with lots of great ideas about what we want to learn. We filled the board with our amazing ideas!!

* We did a huge chimney sum which was 11 numbers long as a challenge – it was very very difficult!!

* We made our own Bucket as part of the “Fill Your Bucket” challenge. We fill buckets by being kind and considerate to others but you can also dip into and empty buckets if you do something wrong to others.

* For our Class Charter, we made our own people out of sweetie wrappers to show how although we are different, we all have the same rights.

* We did some cursive handwriting during the week too – we will keep practicing!

* The P5’s went to Xcite in Whitburn on Monday to do a swimming assessment and they did very well!

* We also started P.E. this week and we had loads of fun playing some team building games.

* We continued with our French this week too and are getting better at saying our ages!

That’s it again for P5/4 this week. See you next week and have a nice weekend! Au revoir.

Stop Press – Murrayfield’s Cold Water Challenge!

Exciting times! (although perhaps not for the teachers) – This Friday at the end of the day, Cole is organising for the teachers to take part in the Cold Water Challenge, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK. Anyone who would like to see this ‘splashtacular’ event is asked to donate £1 to our nominated charity. Cole and his team will be collecting donations on Thursday and Friday. Those extremely lucky young people who get to soak the teachers, will also be taking part in this challenge and the teachers will be able to ‘get their revenge’!
Please support this fun, but important event – a once in a lifetime opportunity!

P7/6 – Great first week!

P7/6 have had a great first week , settling into their new class, roles and responsibilities!
After a class vote, we have started reading our class novel, The Hunger Games.
A reminder that PE kits are required for all physical activities – we are lucky enough to be involved in the FUTSAL programme this year, where specialists will be visiting every Monday afternoon, beginning on 1st September.
Every child in the school requires indoor shoes, as all our classrooms are carpeted.
We will bring you regular updates of what we are doing and how we are getting on, so keep checking-in with us.
Have a great week!
