This Weeks News in P6!
P6 have finished their class novel and are now looking forward to starting their class topic on World War 1 and the novel Private Peaceful.
We have enjoyed some art work in class where we drew around our hands and had to colour them in using pattern and only 4 colours.
We started our maths setting groups and we will be focusing on number placement and time for the next few weeks. We also designed our own clocks which has made a fabulous display with in the corridor.
Thank you to the parents who came to see Miss Moir and the classroom during meet the teacher. It was lovely to see you all.

This Week in P2…

- We have been learning number words to 10 and 20
- We started our farm topic, thinking about food and where it comes from.
Hello and welcome to a new school year!
The children are settling in well to Primary 5, nice to see familiar faces! We have a new member of the class and Logan is finding his way around and learning the Murrayfield ethos with the help of his classmates.
There was great excitement when we went to Xcite in Whitburn for a swimming assessment last Monday. Letters will be forwarded to parents /carers, via the school, regarding swimming lessons.
Our timetable is now settled and P.E. days will be Thursday and Friday, please ensure your child has a P.E kit in school to be used on these days. Meet the teacher is on Wednesday 3rd Sept , 4pm-4.30pm, 4.45pm -5.15pm & 5.30pm-6.00pm, please feel free to come along and ask any questions about our learning this year.
Extra-curricular Gala Day morning for staff, parents and carers and lots of other willing helpers
For anyone who didn’t manage to see the school as it was prepared for the Gala Day in June, I thought I would share some photos of the school as it was being decorated. (Better late than never…) A team of dedicated parents, carers, pupils and staff worked really hard to produce the fantastic display which earned us first place in the decorated building category.
We’re sure you will agree that everyone deserves a huge “Thank You” for all their hard work and commitment!
We are looking forward to next year when, as always, we will welcome any offers of help or inspired ideas from our talented community.
Great job everyone!
Welcome back from the Breakfast Club
We would like to thank all the parents and carers who took the time at the end of last term to come and visit us at the Breakfast Club. It was great to see you join in with the children and to take the opportunity to find out about this great start to their day at Murrayfield Primary.
The club opens at 8.15 am Monday – Friday, is free for all children from P1 – P7 and offers the children a healthy breakfast each morning to set them up for a busy day of learning.
Parents of our new Primary 1 children will be invited in to join us at the Breakfast club one morning next week. We will confirm the date and time for you later this week. We look forward to seeing you!
Bon appetit!

Adjusting to Life in Primary 1B
Hello from Primary 1B!
We have already been learning lots of new things. Chloe has enjoyed learning about Kipper and his family. Manda likes mum and dad and lots of boys and girls enjoyed colouring them in and reading their words.
In number we have been learning about Penguin 1 and Ticklish 2. We decided that we need to have a practise as number two was a bit tricky. You can help us to practise.
We have been learning about children’s rights and responsibilities and have created a class charter which looks like a big wheel! It looks fabby! We have posted the picture to let you see.
