Burns National Schools Festival

Murrayfield Primary participated in the West Lothian Regional Finals of the National Schools Burns Festival in St Kent’s on Wednesday 12th March.

Leia Campbell and Abbie Heaney received a certificate of achievement for excellence in singing a Scottish song.  They sang beautifully infront of a packed assembly hall.

Sophie Chapman, Alyx Bonnes, Taylor Wood and David Charker participated in the Scots poetry section of the competition.  They were fantastic!

Runner Up p5 – Alyx Bonnes

Winner P7 – David Charker

David is the first Murrayfield Primary pupil to win this award and he will now participate in the National Finals at Prestwick Academy on Saturday 10th May.  Well done to everyone!  We are so proud of you all!  Thank you to Mrs Stewart who supported the children through the process.

Game On!

Yesterday Mrs Hare’s class celebrated Commonwealth Day by wearing their trainers to school.  We did lots of stretching, running, jumping, throwing and balancing in events like sprinting, baton relay, hurdles and even weight lifting!  We are counting down the days till the Commonwealth Games in July.
