This week in P3/2..

  • We have been learning about the layout of a letter and have written to different machinery companies.
  • Leighla has been teaching us how to sing “head, shoulders, knees and toes” in French.
  • We have been sketching and painting some super farm animals.
  • We have taken part in chair aerobics.

Another busy week in P5/4

Hi again,

We have had a busy week, learning all about Great Britain.  We have been learning how to use timetables to travel around Britain and finding out why this will be a very useful skill for us as we grow up. We tried to estimate how long different lengths of time actually were.  Not always easy to do!

As part of our topic, we looked at how the Government encouraged immigration into Britain to help increase our workforce after the Second World War and we learned about the diversity of the different races of people who make up Great Britain. Lenny reminded us that it made us think about our “Moral Code” and how we need to work together and get on.

We’ve worked hard in literacy.  We’re enjoying the genre of our new reading books about myths and legends.  In our comprehension tasks, we’ve been thinking hard about unfamiliar vocabulary and expressions and trying to work out their meanings using clues from the stories.

On Friday, we learned a German song which we hope to perform to you at the European Day of Languages Assembly on 26th September.

Thanks to Laura for starting to type up our Blog this week and to everyone for sharing their learning.

Have a great holiday weekend!

P5/4

This Week News in P6

Primary 6 continued their topic this week and made a timeline of Scottish events through history. The children had to place the events in the correct order and name the pictures to identify what was happening. The groups worked really well together….as you can see from the pictures below.

The class have also worked through on an artist study this week….can you guess who the artist was??

Calling Murrayfield’s talented pupils!

Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils,

Don’t forget to keep us informed about the personal achievements of our young people outside school.  We are always interested in what you are doing and would love to share your successes with the wider school community!  We have a lot of talented children in our school and a lot of talented parents and carers who support them.  Thanks!
