P6 serve up PERFECT pizzas!
On Thursday 31st October, upper school participated in a ‘Come Dine with Me’ challenge. Each class prepared their own dish to serve to four joyful judges. P6 created our own dough using flour, brown sugar, yeast and warm water. We loved using our hands to knead the dough.
‘It was fun we’d love to do it again!’ said some of the pupils. We topped our pizzas with a variety of ingredients. These included red onion, red peppers, pepperoni and chicken.
After the pizzas had been placed in the oven we decorated our class using an Italian theme. The class also set out the tables as if it was a restaurant. ‘It looked spectacular’ said one of the pupils.
The class put on a variety of acts to entertain the judges. We are really proud to serve our perfect pizzas and we are waiting for the results of the competition!
P6 and P1F Book Buddies!
Yesterday, P6 and P1F took part in a drama workshop. We were working on how we use our voices when we are reading aloud. We played lots of hilarious games and really enjoyed getting to know more about our buddies intrests and personality. We developed our skills of communication and worked on using pitch and volume in our stories. We cant wait to get started on the project!

There will be an ‘Information Session’ on Thursday 31st October at 3.30pm for all parents/carers of P6 & P7 pupils who will be attending this year’s residential trip to Dalguise, Perthshire.
This will be an opportunity to find out a little more about some of the activities the children will experience and a chance to ask any questions you may have. If you have any queries/questions regarding this trip and are unable to attend this meeting, please don’t hesitate to contact the school to discuss these further.
An information sheet and suggested clothing list for parents/carers was sent home at the end of term. If your child has not received this then please collect a copy from the school office.

Human Sums in Upper School!
Upper school have been learning about inverse operations and have been taking part in some ‘Human Sums’. We really enjoyed it and it helped us to apply our knowledge of inverse operations! It also helped us to develop our mathmatical strategies.
P6 Get Clued Up!
During our Healthy Families, Healthy Children topic P6 have been getting to grips with nutritional information on their snacks. We investigated how some manufacturers used bright colours to sell their snacks. We enjoyed using calculators to work out how many calories there were in a range of snacks. It has really helped us to make an informed choice when we are buying or daily snacks in the mornings!
