News from P2S superheroes

We have been learning;

We seen a real dead sea horse for our topic seashore – Amber

We wrote a story about being on a submarine under the sea – Peter

We were practicing the letter i, l and t again – Elsie

We were learning how to write subtraction sums in our jotters – Amber

We went to P3G’s bake sale and bought yummy cakes – Amber

We were doing comprehension questions – Elsie

We were doing a sequencing task; telling what happened at the beginning, middle and end of our reading books – Peter

We have been drawing sea creatures for our topic – Elsie

We made a big captain respect for our respect wall – Courtney

A huge well done to Courtney, Mason, Elsie, Lucas, Peter, Eve and Melanie for their Head teachers awards because they persevered with writing an acrostic poem on a sea creature! A super proud Miss Akram! πŸ™‚

Update from P2S

This week we have been learning;

We have been learning about money – Millie

We have been learning to write acrostic poems. Β We wrote ours on sea animals – Elsie

We drew pictures of animals we find under the sea for our topic, Seashore – Zoe

We watched P3 assembly about Children in Need – Eve

We learned lots from the assembly today – Lucas

We have been doing subtraction sums this week. Β We got to choose and did Mild, spicy and hot worksheets – Robert

We looked at Veronica verb – Zoe

We seen a real dead seahorse – Jay James

We did lots of reading this week – Robbie

After the mild, spicy and hot, we finished our Elmer subtraction colouring sheets – Zoe

We have been learning about all the creatures you find under the sea – Eve

We turned our doctors surgery into an ice cream shop – Melanie

We had so many HT awards this week for using their knowledge of nouns and adjectives to write poems on colour. Β Super proud Miss Akram as this was their first time writing poems! πŸ˜€

A huge well done to Millie, Kenzie, Jay James, Quinn, Robbie, Leah, Elsie, Sophia, Alicia, Melanie and Megan! πŸ˜€

We have already marked and read our star writers/head teachers awards for next week πŸ˜€ Watch this space next week for who the successful learners are! However Miss Akram found it extremely tricky Β this week to choose star writers as they all done a fab job with their FIRST EVER acrostic poems! πŸ˜€

Update from the superheroes of P2S

Our Learning this week;

We were doing our reading -Robbie

We have been learning about poems – Amber

We have been doing colour poems – Jay James

We have been learning about the Seashore and what you find at the seaside (our new topic) – Eve

We have been learning about money – Elsie

We have been learning about things you find Β under the sea – Jay James

In the assembly today we were learning about why we wear poppies – Millie

The P5/4 did an assembly on the soldiers and the war – Peter

Boys and girls have been coming round with poppies in the school and we bought some christmas bags from the P7s – Lucas

We changed our doctors surgery into an ice cream shop – Eve

We made cones and sprinkles for our ice cream shop – Robert

We have been learning about facts and non-fiction – Robert

We did a 2 minutes silence today to remember the soldiers – Lucas

We have been using the solve blocks to solve problems and having such great fun working with the blocks! – Lucas

We have been practicing how to write y in handwriting – Courtney

Busy busy week from P2S! – We have been so busy working hard that we have had no time to get our HT awards so we shall have lots and lots to give out soon! P2S have wrote such great colour poems that even choosing star writers was a very tough decision for Miss Akram.

P2S and P2F, both classes together have been learning about Respect and we done our Assembly today – Peter

We made posters for the CAB competition – Amber

Millie’s dad (the policeman) came and spoke to us – Amber

We have been learning how to write a Poem – Robert

We wrote our poems on colours – Elsie

We have been doing our Reading – Robbie

A massive well done to both Primary 2S and 2F for a fabulous performance at their Assembly today, a super proud Miss Akram! πŸ™‚ Β Even though they worked super hard at assembly they still managed to do some problem solving after it! What great teamwork from P2S to solve the problem blocks together! (See pictures below)

News from the superheroes (P2S)

Firstly we would like to remind all parents and carers of P2S that it is our assembly with P2F next Friday. (4th November) Β Hope to see you all there! πŸ™‚

What have we been learning this week?……………

We have been learning about Respect – Millie

Being kind to your friends is respect – Zoe

It is being caring – Amber

We have to respect each other – Melanie

Treating people how you would like to be treated – Elsie

If someone is talking to someone else, another person shouldn’t interrupt their conversation – Eve

We were writing sentences with adjectives describing Halloween characters -Peter

we had to remember our full stops, finger spaces and capital letters when writing the sentences – Robert

We had our Halloween disco last night – Quinn

We played lots of games at the Halloween disco – Zoe

We were finishing off our People Who Help Us topic – Amber

We did circle time and spoke about our holidays – Robert

We finished off our Place Value topic – Robert

We will be having our Assembly next week on RESPECT – Amber

We have been learning about describing words – Peter

These are called adjectives – Peter

We were talking about nouns too – Lucas

The dogs trust lady came and visited to tell us how to look after dogs – Robert

We have been learning to handwrite a “t” – Elsie

We had to listen to different sounds of emergency vehicles and try and figure out which emergency vehicle it was – Amber – and we made “little people of people who help us”

We were learning our “ou” in early intervention – Eve

We wrote a story on a fireman saving somebody – Kenzie

We practised our “igh” sound in early intervention too – Millie

We had to match the digital and analogue clocks up – Leah

We had to make numbers with numicon – Jay James

Well done to the Batgirls for winning the group points this week! πŸ™‚

Well done to our star writers this week; Amber, Lucas, Robert, Zoe and Megan.

Also a superb effort and congratulations to; Amber, Zoe, Eve, Millie and Elsie for their Head Teachers award. Β Their Head Teachers award was for their excellent independent work on their comprehension questions related to their reading book. Β Great work girls! πŸ™‚

This week in P2S…..

We were doing our best at reading our books – Robbie

It was Parents nights this week – Β Courtney

We have been doing our handwriting, letter “l” – Jay James

We wrote a letter to the cleaner for helping keeping our classroom tidy – Mason

We have been learning the sound “oi” – Eve

We were learning about nouns – Amber

We had to find nouns in our reading book – Millie

We had star writers from last week (Millie, Leah, Elsie and Peter) – Melanie

We were colouring our water and fire for our people who help us board – Robert

We had to do numbers in order, when we outside – Peter (We were learning about ordering our numbers, and took our learning outside, see picture below πŸ™‚ )

We had to “draw our numbers in chalk and work as a team to put them in order” – Robert

We did yoga with Mrs McGlynn – Millie

We done the caterpillar one (yoga) – Amber

We learned that mistakes grow our brain – Elsie

We had a challenge of doing a cursive “f” – Lucas

We have been looking at digital clocks – Leah

We were doing tens and units with straws (bundling) – Zoe

We were playing snakes and ladders and practising our numbers – Alicia

We were matching numbers up – Alicia

We did number talks and were looking at number 14 – Zoe

We have been looking at teen numbers, they are 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 – Robert & Mason

We were talking about people who help us and their vehicles – Leah

We were looking at police helicopters – Andrew

We have been learning about the β€˜igh’ sound (aye aye captain) at early intervention – Peter

We were learning our cursive β€œl” – Zoe

We have been learning about lollypops (used by the lollypop man or lady) – Eve

We played β€œon the deck” with Mrs McGlynn

We were doing hula hoops, jumping on the trumpet, throwing bean bags and running in P.E. – Amber

We working our muscles when we were doing β€œGym” – Elsie

We made our own lollypops – Robert

The lollypops are yellow so you can see them in the dark – Eve and Millie

We painted a big fire engine – Eve

We were talking away 1 away from 13 to get 12 (during number talks) – Andrew

We were looking at tens and units again – Lucas

We were using Numicon – Kenzie

We were doing the number 17 during number talks – Robert

We know that if the big hand is on the 12 its o’clock – Mason

If the small hand is on the 6 it’s half past – Jay James
