As the teachers were dressed up as Superheroes today and as we won the best class today, we made our own superhero masks after break…..have a look. Check out our superhero poses!

What have we been learning?
Alex – we have been learning parts of the insect – head, thorax and abdomen
Callan J – I can label parts of an insect
Jack – we were labelling pictures of ants, flies and bees
Payton – we were reading our new books
Alex – we were putting the sentences from our book in the right order.
Brogan – we were counting on and back in tens
Jack – we were learning greater than/less than symbols
Megan – we were making up our own dance in PE
Sara – we were working in pairs for dance
Callen S – we were doing our CEM tests on Monday
Adam and Sean were today’s Skillionaires – well done!

This week we have been learning……
In RME we were learning through stories about an ant, kittens and a camel…………Alex & Jack
We were learning about mini beasts – Adam
We were looking at a dead wasp close up with a magnifying glass – Dionne
The wasp has 4 wings – Freya
The wasp has 6 legs – Alex
The wasp has stripes and spots and the bee just has stripes – Warren
We were looking at a slater (alive!) with a magnifying glass – Callen
We did then release the slater back outside – Jack
The slater had lots of legs – Sean
It had 2 antennae – Lilianna
The slater was small and grey – Brogan
We have been using scales to measure weight – Mrs McLay
We measured the weight of a teddy against a wooden sphere to see which was heaviest – Freya
We have been reading fact books this week – Sara

We have been busy in our first week back after the holidays.

We have been learning “igh” words – Jana

We were trying to make the Moggy story make sense – Jack
(They had to rewrite the story in correct sentences).

We have been collecting lots of Fairtrade lables this week and sticking them on our letters to spell FAIRTRADE.

What have we been learning this week? The children really enjoyed the Masterclasses. It was World Book Day and every group were learning and doing activities on different books.
Payton – We were doing Masterclasses on Thursday.
We were learning about Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.
Sean – We made walking sticks and a picture of Willy Wonka & Oompa Loompas.
Aleisha – We were learning about The Tiger who came to tea.
Ross – We made tiger cakes
Callan – we made tiger plates
Brogan – We did Pirates Love Underpants & we made a pirate hat & an eye patch.
Lilianna – We did Those Pesky Rabbits
We made a rabbit & a bear.
Callen S – We were learning about Horace and the Haggis Hunter.
We made a map.
