What have we been learning this week?

Primary 2 have started practising the Nativity songs – Cameron

The Primary 3 s will be starting to learn the Christmas songs soon – Cameron

We have been learning to tell the time – Lewis

We were writing spooky stories for Halloween – Brooke

We were colouring in Halloween mindfulness pictures – Lucy

We have been learning questions words – When, where, what and who – Rhian

We have been doing more reading – Rhian

We have been practising reading with expression – Miss Adam

We were learning the magic e spelling pattern – Leyla

We have been learning sh and ch sounds – Quinn and Macaulay

The circles have been doing tricky chimney sums – William

The squares have been learning numbers to 20 – before/after – Cameron

LAST WEEK AT OUR HALLOWEEN TREAT SALE WE MADE £55 – THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT BOUGHT THINGS.

We made popcorn hands
GHOST marshmallows
Spider biscuits
GHOST bananas and Pumpkin Satsumas

We made pumpkins from paper plates – Brooke

 

This weeks HT Awards went to Robbie, Brooke and Quinn for their Spooky Stories – well done!!

 

 

NEWS from P 3/2

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN LEARNING THIS WEEK, EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE BEEN PRACTISING OUR ASSEMBLY?

 

The whole school raised alot of money whilst cycling for STV  Childrens Appeal – Kenzie

we all took part in the cycling, we even had a special bike for me – Kaylin

We have been learning counting to 20 – Macaulay

We have been counting in hundreds in the Circle group – Cameron

We have been reading – Brooke

We have been learning 2 digit numbers – Noah

We have been playing line tig in PE – Brooke

We were writing postcards – Macaulay

We were all excited to meet Princess Belle today – Lucy

What have we been learning this week?

 

We were revising half past and o’clock in maths – Rhian

We made Katie Morag by drawing around Lucy – Quinn

We were ordering numbers up to 400 – William and Cameron

We were describing our own Grannies in writing – Charlie

We were learning different words for JOY – Eva

We were learning about the different cogs in Health and Well Being – Noah and William

We were drawing SMILEY face emojies for our Assembly next FRIDAY!

We were doing guided reading – William

We were learning sounds and common words in Early Intervention with Mrs Turnbull. – William

We played  line tig games in PE with Mrs McGlynn – Cameron

 

Head Teachers Awards today :

Cameron, William, Julia and Leyla – well done to you maths geniuses for sequencing 3 digit numbers.

PRIMARY 3/2 NEWS

What have we been learning?

We were writing about ” My Favourite Journey” – William

We were playing maths games about numbers to 100 – Kenzie

We have been doing reading – Cameron

Yesterday we were doing Masterclasses on cities – Leyla

In the Barcelona Masterclass we made lizards- Charlie

We designed a new logo for Barcelona football club – Cameron

We made the Sydney Opera House – Jay James

We were building houses in the Glasgow Masterclass – Rhian

We made a picture of a sunset with a camel in the Dubai Masterclass – William

We made models of the Eiffel Tower and painted French flags in the Paris Masterclass – Brooke

Well done this week to Eva and Leyla for receiving Head Teachers Awards for writing.

THANK YOU to Mrs Stewart for our Money Bags game – we look forward to playing it next week.

What have we been learning this week?

 

We were writing a Personal Account about The Weekend – Brooke

The primary 2s were doing a maths challenge to colour in the castle with numbers up to 20 – Lucy

The primary 3s maths challenge was to design and draw something from 2d shapes – Cameron

We have been learning about Katie Morag in our topic – Eva

We were counting items from Katie Morag up to 20 for our maths – Charlie

We have been practising our handwriting – William

For Roald Dahl day on Wednesday we were doing word searches, drawing Mr Twits beard and writing revolting recipes. – Kenzie

We were also given character names for the day – Miss Adam

(aka The Jumpsquiffling Humpy Rump!)

We were learning about less than/ greater than symbols using the crocodile – Cameron

We drew and coloured Granny Island and Granny Mainland and the cat and Neilly Begg – characters from the Katie Morag story – Sophie  (we  did this as group projects)

We did some great work this week and some of us got Head Teachers Awards

Cameron – for independent writing and beautiful cursive handwriting

Brooke – for independent writing and remembering punctuation

Sophie – for independent writing and trying to keep her letters on the line

Sophia – for independent writing and sounding out her words

Alicia – for independent maths – counting and writing her numbers correctly

I have been reading about Haircuts – Robbie

We were doing comprehension about spiders – Zoe

We learned some spider facts – Zoe

We were measuring weight in maths – Elsie

I have been reading “Oh Jack” – Ashton

I have been answering  questions about the book “The Motorway” – Adriana

We have been learning about the life cycle of a spider – Zoe

We were writing about The Very Hungry Caterpillar this week – Alfie

We were learning about athletics – doing the high jump, practising our shot putt, and passing the baton – Jamie

Weather permitting – our Sports Day will be Monday afternoon!

What have we been learning this week?

We were writing a story about if we were shrunk and describing huge mini beasts – Cameron

We have started learning about measure – William

We have been painting more of our rocks – Rachael

We were using tally marks to count flowers – Sean

We were choosing mild, spicy and hot challenges for data handling – Zoe

We went to visit the Nursery to see their caterpillars as part of our topic – Elsie

We were reading and answering questions on the story – William

We were adding 2 digit numbers to solve word problems – Cameron and Elsie

We were practising our handwriting – Millie

Millie took in her caterpillars today for us to look at closely.

Our skillionaires this week are Jase – I can show 2 strategies using numicon of how to add
Ethan – I can order children from shortest to tallest.

We were writing acrostic poems about mini beasts – Zoe

The poems were about slugs, caterpillars, worms and bees- Zoe

We have been learning about Data Handling with Miss Drummond – Kenzie and Kirsty

We were practising our handwriting – Millie

We did an assessment on 2D and 3D Shapes – William

We were reading our new books – Kirsty

We were answering questions about our books – Millie

We were painting stones to make ladybirds and bees – McKenzii and Hali

We were learning oy and oi sounds with Miss Akram – William

We were learning ch, sh and th sounds with Miss Adam – Kirsty

Well done to our Skillionaires – Cameron for composing an acrostic poem about a slug and Megan for designing her own mini beast.

Well done to the girls for achieving a Head Teachers Award for their acrostic poems on caterpillars – Zoe and Elsie

We have been practising our handwriting with rhyming words that end in ick – McKenzii and Cameron

We were making a bar chart about shapes – Cameron

We were reading our books and writing a new ending – Millie

We had to find the missing words from our book – Kenzii

We were answering comprehension questions – Jamie

We were writing in sentences – Cameron

We were learning about some mini beasts and their habitats.

Worms live underground in the soil – Rhian

Butterflies live in flowers and trees – Rachael

Woodlice live under rocks – Zoe

Dragonflies live near ponds – Sean

Ants live in an anthill – Jack

A spider lives in a web – Kirsty

Bees live in a beehive and trees – Megan

Caterpillars live under leaves – Kailli

We have just finished our Danceathon! We all enjoyed it and raised some money for the school. Well done everyone.
