What have we been learning this week?

We were learning time with Mrs Stewart – o’clock and half past – Noah

We were writing about “My Favourite Journey” – Noah

We were learning numbers to 100 – Kian

We were making sensible sentences – Lily Mc

We did Problem Solving – Laiba

On Thursday we made clocks – Lucy

We had a French Cafe with Primary 5 – Kevin

We were learning our spelling words – Sophie

We were making slime in Science – Sophie

We were learning a French song – I can sing a rainbow – Brydin

We sang our song in Assembly. The whole school sang a song in a different language – Lucy

We played Monkey Football on Monday – Ollie

We played Dodgeball – Jakub

We were making a tree with a sunset sky in art – Emily

We were reading Monkeys Magic Pipe – Lucy

We were measuring water in ml and litres – William

The yellow group were reading The Jar of Oil – Robbie

The green group were reading Greedy Green Goblin – Quinn

The red group 2 were reading Pip’s Pizza – Lewis

The red group 1 were reading Pirate Adventure – Kaylin

The blue group did a reading assessment on The Forgotten Teddy – Brooke

The blue group were also reading Contact – William

We watched a show called “Lets talk about it” yesterday – Brooke

We were learning about sight in topic – Cameron

We were getting more practise with nouns, adjectives and verbs – Cameron

We were revising odds and evens in maths – Kenzie

We were playing Alien Cookbook game on laptops – Jay James

We were doing taking away in maths – Robbie

We were measuring our shoes – Rhian

We were measuring in a game on laptop – Charlie

We started learning about being healthy with Heart Start with Mrs Mcglynn – Cameron

We were doing athletics outside – hurdles, races, javelin and shot putt – Macaulay

The red reading group was reading “Chips” – Noah

The yellow group were reading “The New House” – Jase

The blue group are still reading “Contact” – Rhian

The green group are reading “Tab’s Kitten” – Quinn

We were learning about verbs – Macaulay

We have been busy with Auditions for Blackburn’s Got Talent

We have Kaylin and Alicia going through to the semi finals on Monday singing “How Far I’ll go” from Moana.

We wish them all the best.

We were learning about our human organs – Rhian

We were learning about our skeleton – Kenzie

Me and Quinn were doing Fizzy with Miss Graham – Brooke

The yellow group started reading King of the Birds – Robbie

The red group started reading Tug Tug – Sophie

Red group 1 were reading The Play – Jay James

The green group are reading The Dressing Box – Quinn

The Blue group started reading Contact – Brooke

We were doing subtraction using 3 digits – Leyla

We were subtracting 2 digit numbers – Kenzie

We were learning about verbs – Macaulay and Sophie

We were learning about our organs and our skeleton – Quinn

We were watching a video about the skeleton – Jakub

We were learning about our heart – Jay James

We were doing an addition and subtraction sheet- Brooke

We were reading scales in measurement – Cameron

We were weighing ourselves in kg – Charlie

We were doing sequencing, counting and dot patterns with Mrs Stewart and Mrs Wedlock in Numeracy – Kenzie and Cameron

We were doing Go Noodle in the class to keep fit – Jakub

We were writing the first part of an imaginative story about Pirates – Cameron

We had to identify nouns, adjectives and verbs – Kenzie

We started the Fizzy Programme with Mrs Logan  (Leyla, Brooke, Robbie, Quinn and Alex )  – Brooke

WELL DONE to Robbie and Brooke for their independent writing

and to Jay James for independent 2 digit subtraction work – they recieved their HEAD TEACHERS AWARDS.

Well done Julia for winning the P1-P3 stage of designing a SAFE superhero!

We have been weighing things – William

We weigh in grams and kilograms – Kenzie

We have been reading our books – Poor Goose – Robbie

We have been reading Six Fish – Charlie

We have been reading The New House – Jay James

The greens have been reading Scruffy Teddy – Quinn

The blue group are reading Two Jacks – Brooke

We were learning about athletics – Jakub and William

Macaulay won the javelin throwing and the bean bag throwing challenge.

Jase and Lewis jumped the highest hurdles!

Everyone tried their best – well done.

We have been practising our handwriting – Brooke

We went on a school trip to Edinburgh Museum to look at Egyptian artefacts – Quinn

We will post some photos of our trip later as we are having technical difficulties just now.

WE ALL ENJOYED OUR TRIP VERY MUCH and only a few people fell asleep on the bus!

The red group 1 were reading about Men in the Moon – Eva

The red group 2 were sequencing their book Dick and his cat – Macaulay

We have been counting in 2s – William

We were sorting out even and odd numbers – Eva

We were trying to count back in 1s from 100 – Charlie

We were making a giant map of Egypt for our Assembly – Brooke

We were designing and colouring Canopic Jars – William

We were deciding on our ideas for MPS vision – Rhian

We were using the Story Mat with Mrs McGonnigal to create a story – William

and Jase

We were doing mindfulness with Mrs McGlynn – Charlie

We were doing listening skills with Mrs McGlynn – Brooke

We were ticking off the things we wanted to find out in our Topic in the Big Book – Rhian

We did Masterclasses yesterday afternoon – Eva

We read Giraffe’s can’t dance and made giraffe finger puppets – Eva

We read Some dogs do and we coloured in a hot air balloon – Lucy

We read The Pirate Cruncher and we made pirates and pirate maps – Jase

We read Cat in the Hat and we made cat masks and pictures of a cat in a hat – Robbie

We read a few pages of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and we made Golden Tickets or Willy Wonka’s hat – William

We read Shark in the Park and we made a Shark and a windmill – Kaylin

We were adding up 3 digit numbers in numeracy and calculating the change in money – Leyla

We were making dice and counting dot patterns – Macaulay

We were counting on and back in 10s up to 100 – Rhian

We were sequencing larger numbers from biggest to smallest – William

We were reading Reds and Blues – Macaualay

We were reading Robin Hood – Kenzie

We were reading Game Boy – Rhian

We were reading A Go Kart – Eva

We were writing our word boost words – William

We were adding up coins to 20p – Charlie
