Today in assembly we watched a short film about Outdoor Learning and how we can continue our learning using the outdoors. Primary 7 pupils, Josh, Nikolas, Abby and Eva took notes and this is what they found.
Outdoor learning is good for:
teamwork, getting your body moving, being energetic and exercising, getting healthier, developing listening skills, using your imagination, getting fresh air, providing space for learning, keeping you calm, playing games,
Outdoor learning supports:
maths and numeracy, literacy and language, experimenting, cross curricular links, being creative and inventive, using outdoor resources – den building, planting, understanding of nature
Outdoor learning is:
FUN, A GOOD EDUCATION
We also agreed that we need to be prepared for Outdoor Learning and that the weather would have a part to play. Classes would not be outdoors in really poor, wet weather.
Well done to everyone for their contribution to our assembly! Happy Outdoor Learning!!
