Engaging Parents in PE

Lornshill Academy, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Saturday 30thJanuary 2016, 9.30am – 1pm

Education Scotland would like to offer parents/carers an opportunity to develop an understanding of how a high quality physical education (PE) experience supports learning across the curriculum.

The day will demonstrate how this can be extended with a strong home-school partnership.

During the day participants will have the opportunity to hear key messages and attend workshops which exemplify these. There will be the opportunity to engage in conversation with presenters, fellow parents and colleagues.

Aims of the day are for participants to:

  • understand how PE has evolved and recognise the difference between physical education, physical activity and sport*
  • understand the importance of physical education in supporting learning
  • find out how partnerships can be developed between home and school

This event runs from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
