Nursery to Primary 7 have been working on a mini learning context about Mid Calder, as they are celebrating their 100th year of Gala Days this year. Classes have been taking part in lots of different activities from walks through the village to orienteering, map reading to investigating the history of Mid Calder. Each class produced a photo frame of their learning, photos of the frames will be displayed at the front of the school on Gala Day and the Gala committee will display the frames in the village.
Click here to listen to the Nursery pupils sing a song they made about Lizzie Bryce.
The frames look brilliant, well done to everyone. The Nursery children enjoyed learning about Lizzie Bryce. We made a song about Lizzie and created super drawings.
Wow, boys and girls. These look fantastic. I saw lots of children working hard on these frames on Monday and it is great to see the results.
Lots of learning happens in a historiic village like Mid Calder. You are so lucky to live in a place so full of history and stories.
They all look amazing! Good job everyone!
These are fabulous! Well done all.

These frames are amazing!
Happy birthday Mid Calder Gala Day. These frames look fantastic and show a wide range of learning through our Mid Calder topic. There is so much to learn about our local area.
Nursery boys and girls – your singing sounds fantastic and you have taught me some facts about Lizzie Brice.
I have lived in Mid Calder for a long time but have learned lots from looking at your work, thank you so much to all the boys and girls in Mid Calder PS for this!
In particular, thanks to the Nursery Children for sharing all they have learned about Lizzie Brice, their beautiful drawings of her and her Cow, they are wonderful and I keep listening to your lovely song over and over as I’m trying to learn to sing it as well as you can. 🙂
Happy birthday Mid Calder gala day! It was such a shame the rain didn’t stay away but I’m sure it didn’t spoil the day. 🙂 🙂
