What an incredible effort from everyone this morning at our World Book Day parade, it was a fantastic start to our celebrations. Can you spot your favourite Julia Donaldson character from our staff?

As part of our commitment to challenging diversity, we have been working on The Show Racism The Red Card national competition for schools. We have been learning about the important role that we all can play in tackling racism and discrimination and the children had very mature and well-thought responses in our discussion in assembly. Here are a selection of the fantastic entries that Longridge submitted to the competition.

Thank you to the families who joined us for our Burns Celebration. We have continued the celebrations into this week with recitals of A Dug, A Dug in assembly. Well done to all of our very talents pupils for showing courage when performing to an audience.

In celebration of UNICEF’s Day for Change, we learned all about the amazing work UNICEF does to protect and promote children’s rights across the world. It was the perfect opportunity to also celebrate our World Inclusion Day competition. All children designed a logo for a T-shirt to promote inclusion. Overall the designs were outstanding, showing a mature understanding of what inclusion really means. The winning designs were made into T-shirts and presented today. Of course the winners were then desperate to model their designs!
