Here we are on the last day of the school year already. We have lots of lovely memories to look back on. My favourite memory was definitely our trip to Edinburgh Castle. What is your favourite memory from P2?
I am so impressed with how you adjusted so quickly at such a strange time. Although this year didn’t go as we would have planned, I have still loved seeing your progress and your learning at home. Thank you so much for being such an amazing class. I’m so proud of you all!
Thank you again to all the adults for all of your hard work too!
I hope you all have a lovely summer break and I can’t wait to see you when we get back to school.
Well done on making it to the end of a very strange school year. I am so proud of all the hard work you have done both in school and for the last few months at home. I am very sad that we did not get to do a lot of the things that I had planned but you have kept trying hard and learning.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer holiday and I will see you when you come back to school as Primary 3 and Primary 4.
Writing this blog today makes me feel very sad as I can’t speak to you face to face. So today is the last day of school before the summer holidays. So when I speak to you again some of you will be in Primary 2 and some in Primary 3.
I want to say again how proud I am of all of you and I am looking forward to seeing all of you when we are back to school. It has been a pleasure to have you all in my class this year, you were a great bunch and I have enjoyed every minute. I hope you have too?
I hope the weather stays good ☀️☀️ and we get a great summer holidays (even if it is at home). Get a good rest and in August you will be ready for fantastic learning. 📚✏️🖍
Here is the transition activity grid for our new Primary 1 pupils. Please let us know how you get on with these activities by sharing your work on our Blog or your Learning Journal.
this is our last week of learning activities. I hope you have found our learning grids interesting and useful for learning? I hope you all have a great week and enjoy the new style of grid. Have fun.
Please also log onto Sumdog and take part in the whole school competition. We need as many pupils as possible, to help us compete. Below are the instructions to help get you started. Click on the link.
First of all, thank you to all that took part in the virtual zoo trip, Miss Brown and I were delighted at how engaged so many of you were and we were impressed with how well you got on with all the tasks! This week we have a Health and Wellbeing grid for the full week so it is going to be a little bit different! There are themes for each day and tasks to go along with this. I am still very keen to see how everyone gets on this week so please keep commenting on this blog and sharing on you learning journals! I will still check in with you guys throughout the week!
I cannot believe we are in the last week of term! What a time we have had this year, I have had so much fun teaching all you guys and have been missing everyone a lot over lockdown! It has been so nice seeing everyone grow in their learning and little personalites! You all have made me one very very proud teacher this year with how well you all have adapted to change and tried your best with everything I’ve given you to do. (Parents as well, thank you for all your support during this very tricky time, everyone has stuck together to make sure we are all doing the best for our childen!)
On Wednesday, reports will be ready to collect at the time allocated to you. It was a pleasure writing everyone’s reports, as you have all been my little stars this year! I will be in on Wednesday during lunches so I cannot wait to see lots of you!
This is our last week of school and it is going to be a little different. This week is health week and the grid below contains activities for the whole week. There is a differently healthy focus each day and I would love to hear about what you have been doing.
You can also work on your bee project this week if you have not yet finished it.
The sumdog competition is running this week too. We need three more people from the class to play for our class to qualify for entry. The instructions on how to enter are here. Sumdog instructions 1
Have a wonderful day everyone and I look forward to hearing how you are all getting on with the activites.
I can’t believe this is our last week of P2! I think this year has gone very quickly!
This is the last daily blog post of the school year as this week we are focusing on health and wellbeing. This is your grid for this week filled with health and wellbeing tasks:
I want to thank you all so much for all of your hard work. You have adapted so well to doing your work at home and I am very proud of you all. You have been such an amazing class and I have just loved being your teacher. Thank you for all of the pictures you have sent and the updates you have given me, it has been so nice to be able to see how you have been getting on at home.
Thank you to all adults for all of your hard work. Your support has been invaluable and has made this difficult time a lot easier!
Remember we still have our Sumdog contest! Thank you to those who have taken part so far. We still need more people to join in in order to qualify! Here are the instructions on how to enter:
On Wednesday you will be able to collect reports at school. You can collect these from the middle area (Beattlie) doors, and approach from the Infant Area. 10.45-11.30am – P4 &P3
1.15-2pm – P2 & P1
If I don’t see you on Tuesday at lunch, I will be in touch this week. Please let me know via the school office if you need anything at all in the meantime. Please also keep posting on Learning Journals and commenting on the blog. Although this is the last daily blog post I will check in again this week.
Thank you again P2 for making me one very proud teacher!
I hope you have all had a fabulous weekend after our exciting week to the zoo last week. 😁 This is our last week before the summer holidays. 🙁
This week is a little different, you will not have a daily post. But the grid below is separated into daily activities for you to complete over the week but please stay in touch with all your learning.
Here is your story. Miss Brown trying to talk in Scots, it might make you laugh – Gruffalo in Scots.
A reminder, Miss Duncan posted about the Sumdog competition. We need 5 players from each class, can we get 5 from our class as we don’t have 5 yet and we do want the school to win. It doesn’t need to played everyday just an hour over the week the competition is on. I hope you have/will sign up and join in the fun to support Kirkhill in the West Lothian competition.
I wanted to write a little message to every one of you to say how proud i am of you!! You have all been working hard through this unusual time. I know this has not been easy for anyone and your hard work and attitude to your learning has been fabulous. You have grown in leaps and bounds over the year and i am very pleased to be part of it. Keep this up in your next year of school.
I will be for lunches on Wednesday again so be nice to see faces. Reports will be collected this week on the day/time that has been sent to you. I am very sad our year of p1 and p2 is coming to an end and I wasn’t able to see you and teach you in our classroom for the full year.
I also need to apologise for not getting round to calling the children who wanted a call back last week. I will be phoning Monday and Tuesday this week, if this is not convenient can you email the office please and let me know. Thanks.
Please keep in contact with photos and comments on the blog during the week as i would love to hear from you even if it is just a hello.
