On the last week before the Easter holidays primary 1 have been busy.

In our writing, we used Hansel and Gretel as our stimulus.  We gave our opinions on the story and write about our favourite part.

We have been continuing to work on blending our sounds in our reading of sentences and using sounds to make words.

In Maths we are using a new strategy of a number line to help us add two numbers together.

We also introduced subtraction using pictures.

We have been practicing our Easter songs and learning all about the Easter story.  We painted boiled eggs which we have learnt that the eggs represent the stone that was rolled over the cave entrance of where Jesus was.   After our eggs were dry we rolled them down a hill.

We created a dragon in topic to guard our classroom so we can make a new fairyland inside.

We also discussed what made a good friend and we created our own friendship flowers as a reminder for us to know how to be a good friend.

On Tuesday afternoon the children who have reached the Golden club watch Padington 2 at their movie treat.

On Friday we celebrated Sports Relief.  This morning involved getting 15 minutes of a sporting activity which we rotated with all the infant classes.  We all enjoyed this.

Hope you all all have a lovely Easter holiday and stay safe.  See you all in two weeks.
