A Snowy Week in P7/6

We have been very busy learning new things about our new topic this week. We have been focusing on the Music and Dances of the 20th Century. We learned about the different music genres which happened in each decade and learned about the different dances. Why don’t you ask us how to do the hand jive? We are going to be doing a collaborative task this term where we are going to be working in pairs to create a floorbook about a particular decade and then present these to the class at the end of term. We have picked our decades and have made a start to these – they are already looking good!

In Maths we have continued learning about time. Some of us have been revisiting how to tell the time on both analogue and digital clocks. Some of us have been learning about time durations and have been able to read timetables and work out when things begin and finish. Next week we are going to look more at 24 hour time and reading timetables. On Thursday, it was also very exciting when a giant box arrived in our classroom called Izak9. It turns out it is a cube which splits into 3 and has different numbers on it. Mrs Weir used the cube to help us develop our tables knowledge and to learn about prime numbers.

On Thursday, everyone in the class recited their Scots poems. Well done to everyone for their hard work and commitment in learning their poems. The 3 finalists for the P6 year group were Emma, Karis & Matthew. We now await the judges decision on the overall finalist who will perform for the school at next weeks assembly.

Have a lovely weekend 🙂
