Another busy couple of weeks in Primary 6/5!

In Maths at the moment we have been working on addition and subtraction. Some of us have been looking at chimneys sums and are even trying tricky ones where we have to carry numbers over.

Today we did a problem solving problem exercise where we had to solve all the problems using addition and subtraction to try and turn our class back from robots! We’ve not finished our mission yet but we will continue next week!

This week we had a FUTSAL taster session where we practicing different skills and tricks with the footballs. Some of our class are going to join the weekly lunchtime club.

Some of skills we have been working on in our writing have included using paragraphs, AFORTEST persuasive techniques and including interesting openers for our sentences. We are finishing off our work on persuasive writing and so next week we are going to be hosting a class debate on whether pupils should have to do homework or not. Details on the preparation of this can be found in the children’s home learning jotter.

Highlights of the week…

Joshua – I liked working on my persuasive writing.

Jayden – I like doing my persuasive writing and getting better at using paragraphs

Blanka – I really enjoyed working together as group in our problem solving challenge

Matthew – I liked when we tried to turn our class back from robots and working as a team

Emilie – I enjoyed doing P.E this week because we did different games using team work.

All children have all had a slip with a time for parents evening for next week. If there are any problems, please contact the school and we can make alternative arrangements.

Have a good weekend! 🙂
